Christmas At Ogboko, Mbaise People Took Their Turn

In what has become a Pilgrimage of sort since the second tenure of Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, the three Arms of Mbaise Nation took their turn to pay homage on the Governor in his home town, Ogboko in Ideator South Local Government Area of Imo State like every other parts of the State did.
According to a Press Release issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Government, Sam Onwuemeodo, the Delegation comprised of Political Leaders, Front Line Traditional Rulers, Church Leaders and Stakeholders from the three Local Government Areas of Aboh, Ezinihitte and Ahiazu.
The member representing Ahiazu / Ezinihitte Mbaise Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Chief Nnanna Igbokwe, the Chairman of Mbaise Council of Ndi Eze,  Eze Leo Nwokeocha, the Deputy Chairman of State Council of Traditional Rulers for Owerri Zone, Eze Chidume Okoro, Nze Patrick Onuoha, and the State Chairman of APC, Chief Hilary Eke, led the Delegation.
The Release quoted Chief Igbokwe, who is also the leader of South East Caucus of APC members in the House of Representatives as telling the Governor that what some key Political Leaders of Mbaise Political Extraction could not do for their people, he had done it for them, and remarked that henceforth the Governor would begin to see Broad Based Politics by Mbaise people.
The Statement also quoted Chief Igbokwe as assuring the Governor that they have decided to be on the same page with him for the overall good of the Mbaise people, since he has shown that he is a Governor with large heart.
According to the Statement, all the leaders who spoke on the occasion expressed gratitude to the Governor for all he has done for Mbaise people, and assured him of their continued support and loyalty.
Responding, the Governor expressed optimism that the new emerging Political Leaders in Mbaise would correct the mistakes of the Political Leaders of the old order by playing group Politics instead of clannish Politics.

advised Mbaise people to change their style of Politics in practice and words to enable them attract the support of other parts of the State to produce the Governor of the State one day.
Furthermore, the Statement quoted the Governor as saying that before now, the Political Leaders in Mbaise had enthroned a very disturbing Political Developmental Practice that portrayed the people of the Area as Clannish, which has unfortunately alienated them from most of the other Areas in the State.
Though he praised the people for being Industrious, Intelligent, Resourceful, United and Enterprising, pointing out that they have been due to produce a Governor of the State, he regretted that Mbaise people alone cannot produce the Governor  without the rest of Imo people.
The Release stated that the Governor reiterated his love for the people and remarked that there was nothing he did in other parts of the State that he didn’t do in Mbaise. The Governor was quoted as saying that the Resin Paint Industry which he repurchased and handed over to a Foreign Company, Skyrun has begun production is in Mbaise, while the University of Agriculture, and Veterinary Medicine, as well as  other numerous Projects of the Government are located in Mbaise.
Owelle Okorocha noted that with Politicians of like minds, now waxing stronger in the Area, Mbaise people can now work with other people in the State to produce a Governor very soon.
