Orlu Political Summit Unite in Nkwere For 2019

Delegates from across the 12 Local Government Areas of Imo West Senatorial District Orlu, gathered at the Nkwere Country Club, Nkwere Local Government Area of Imo State to put their Acts together and form a formidable force ahead of the 2019 General Elections.
The Summit, which was facilitated by Nze Elvis Agukwe produced a Communiqué with the resolution that the leadership of the Country should be left with young and visionary leaders to actualise rapid National Socio Economic Development in the Area, the State and at the Federal Government levels. The Communiqué also enjoined the people of Owerri West Senatorial District not to submit to the negation of their Political Right to support people of proven leadership quality for elective positions in the State, and appealed that the people of the Area should always consider and support people from the District who are committed to the developmental process of  the Zone.
Meanwhile, the Summit began with a Homily by the General Overseer of Love Based Assembly FESTAC Town Lagos, Rev Chima Iwunze who enjoined Politicians to eschew Politics of bitterness and division  so that they can fight for the well being of the people of the Area, Imo State and Nigeria at large. Rev. Uwunze warned Orlu Political Summit against Politics of desperation and rancour, stressing that it would endanger the Peace and Progress enjoyed in the State.
The Political Summit was attended by Dignitaries, comprising of Youth Leaders, Women and Political Leaders as well as Stakeholders. Presenting his address, the Chief Convener of the Summit, Chief Elvis Agukwe explained that they gathered to chat the new Socio Political and Economic future of the Area beyond 2019, stressing the need to curb inherent potentials and eschew division among those in authority and Political Leaders.
Chief Agukwe regretted that the challenges of uncoordinated and individual selfishness of those in authority hindered the full realisation of their Socio Economic and Political Development, adding that the Area is endowed with human and natural resources for self reliance.
“We should never surrender our Political and Inalienable Rights for Satisfaction of inconsequential Primordial Considerations. Therefore we should recite what our Political chances are. Orlu’s Interest must come first at both State and National levels”. He said, pointing out that the Search for a sustainable common goal for the people of the Area necessitated the re examination of representation of their political scenario both in the State and at the Federal levels.
Also speaking, the Chief of Staff to Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State, Chief Uche Nwosu admitted that the Summit was timely, noting that time has cone for the Area to unite in order to enhance its Political and Economic strength.
He remarked that the next General Election in the State should bring all Senatorial Districts in the State to collaborate with each other in order to provide vibrant, quality and visionary leaders.
In his remarks, the Traditional Ruler of Nkwere Ancient Kingdom, Eze Chijioke Okpara pledged the continued Prayers and Progressive Advise of Traditional Rulers to move the Area to greatness.
