Imo Governor commended For Helping The Church/ Charity Works

Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha has been commended for helping the Church and his Charity Work in Nigeria. The Papal Nuncio to Benin Republic/Togo, Most Rev. Brian Unaigwe who visited the Governor in company of three Bishops and Rev Sisters at the Government House made the commendation in Owerri.
The Papal Nuncio emphasised that they were on a working visit to the State and to thank the Governor for his total support as the Vatican Ambassador to Togo when he was inaugurated in Rome.
Responding, Governor Okorocha re assured of his commitment to resolving the crisis Rocking Ahiara Diocese in Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of Imo State, which has drawn world attention.
He stressed that the respect of the Catholic Church lies on the Pope.
The Governor also condemned the attack on a Catholic Church at Ozubulu in Ekwusigo Local Government Area of Anambra State, pointing out that he has spoken with the Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano, who promised that the Perpetrators must be brought to book.
