AIFCE Warning Strike: Alumni Association Sues For Peace

By Vivian Iwu:

Following the one week warning strike embarked upon by the Academic Staff Union of Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education (AIFCE) Owerri on August 3, 2017, the Alumni Association of the Institution has appealed to all Stakeholders involved in the on going face off within the Institution to sustain the peaceful resolution of the issues at stake in line with Universal Best Practices in Conflict Resolution and Management.
This was contained in a Statement singed by the Association’s National  Publicity Secretary, Comrade Unamba Eugine, National Secretary, Comrade .C. Iheakanwa, and the  National President, Hon. Chief Charles Ejiogu.
The statement expressed the belief of the Association that a peaceful resolution would enhance the realisation of the University Status for Alvan, which is already on the threshold, and which happens to be the expectation of all Stakeholders in the Alvan Project.
They called for maintenance of status quo since people like the distinguished Senator of Owerri Zone , Senator Sam Daddy Anyanwu has wielded in the matter and offered reasonable advice.
The Alvan Ikoku Federal College of Education Alumni Association therefore advised every Party not to engage in any Act that would disrupt teaching and learning in the cherished Almamata because no one can predict the out come of the continued hard-line stands by all the Parties involved.
