Chinese Company Takes Over Imo Paper Packaging Industry Orlu

Imo State Government has officially handed over the Imo Paper Packaging Industries Limited Owerri Ebiri, in Orlu Local Government Area to a Chinese Company, SkyRun International. Performing the hand – over Ceremony,  the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who was represented by the Chief of Staff, Government House, Chief Uche Nwosu, called on the Nigerian Industrialists to emulate their Chinese Counterparts by replicating the Industrial Revolution in the Country.

He disclosed that the Company, which is now a Cosmetics and Soap Making Company would engage more than three hundred Workers from the Local Government Area.

Owelle Okorocha challenged Industrialists in the State to adopt new Research strategies in order to improve on locally manufactured Products to make them competitive in the International Market.

On the other hand, the Governor urged the people of Owerri Ebeiri Community to guard the Industry properly.

In his speech at the occasion, the Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Chief Chidi Ibe pointed out there was need for the Government to industrialise the State having done well in the Education Sector.

Chief Ibe recalled that the State Government’s Economic Trip to Turkey has yielded results, adding that the tour provided insight on how to develop all Sectors of Imo Economy to the Contingent.

He described the Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha as a visionary and focused leader, calling on the Private Sector to collaborate with the Government in industrialising the State.
