Provost Warn Matriculants Against Cultism, Exam Malpractice, Others

The Provost of Alvan Ikeoku Federal College of Education, Dr Blessing Ijeoma has warned the Matriculating Students of the Institution that the School has zero tolerance on Cultism, Exam malpractice and other forms of anti social behavior whose consequences are expulsion from the School.
This formed part of her address at the 39th Matriculation Ceremony of the Institution in Owerri.
She reminded them that Exploitation and intimidation of Students are highly prohibited, stressing that the College would continue to uphold Academic Excellence and provide the necessary platform for people to realise their Potentials.
Dr Ijeoma who doubled as that the Chairman of the occasion, explained that the Institution has introduced the Department of Special Needs Education to cater for people with special needs, adding that Courses are also offered in Technical Education and Entrepreneurship Studies to prepared the Youths in line with modern realities.
She explained that the College has experienced Academic Excellence for more than 50 year’s of it’s existence, and urged the Students to be part of the success story.
Meanwhile, at the occasion organised by the Alvan Ikeoku Federal College of Education Owerri in collaboration with its Affiliate Institution, the University of Nigeria Nsuka, to mark their formal Admission of Students into the NCE, PDE, and Degree Programs offered by the Institutions, the Vice Chancellor, University of Nigeria Nsuka, Prof. Benjamin Ozumba presented an Address.
Represented by the Dean, facility of Education in the University, Prof. Stella Nwaizu, the VC urged the Students not to lose focus through distraction.
He explained what is expected of them and what they should expect from the School, and wished them the best in life.
The Matriculation Oat was later administered on the Students who pledged to be of good behavior.
The hallmark of the event was serious entertainment by various Social Groups of the College, feeding and drinking.
One of the Matriculating Students, Miss Ugochi Iwuji expressed gratitude to God for making her a Student of the institution, promising to put in her best to make her parents and the Institution proud.
